Is it just me or do we really need another “girl group”? short answer to that is do we hell,  just because their granny thinks they have a good voice that they have a god given right to inflict the rest of the planet with it, I personally would rather puncture both my eardrums than listen to them warble week in week out.

This show has become more ridiculous as the seasons pass, with the hideous themed weeks, they had the audacity to have a “Rock” week where the acts had to do a cover of a rock song, and what did the mentors do, turn the songs into ballads so the inadequates could cope with the lack of vocal range they possess.

When will this hideous sham of a show end, we have had our fill of jumped up Karaoke singers with little or no personality let alone any talent, they will be worked from the rear like a sooty puppet, rolled out at any minor celebrity gathering to smile and spout platitudes like their talentless predecessors before them. There are plenty talented musicians out there plying their craft week in week out in some hovel of a pub for years on end, and these folk are quite happy to do that, why, because the genuinely do it for the love of the music they produce and would not debase themselves by appearing on one of these “talent” shows, ha, talent, who are they trying to kid.

Well Mr Clarkson, maybe after the public service workers have all been shot you will be free to take your own rubbish to the landfill in one of your many expensive cars, and then wipe the arses of your grandparents, due to lack of care workers, then you could sweep the streets of the village you live in, and if that’s not enough maybe you could pop down to your local hospital and fill in for the overworked health workers, you could possibly take a class in the local school, well maybe not, we want our children educated to a high standard, and not filled with the right wing, bourgeois attitude that you seem to have .

Clarkson wake up, drag yourself out of middle England and take a long hard look at what’s going on in the country, people are facing a life in old age in extreme poverty, what you earn in a year would keep open a nursery school for a number of years, yet you have the audacity to question our right to fight for something that was written into our contract, and let me point out to you that our pension is not funded by you or any other tax payer, we contribute 3.6% of our salaries towards this pension, my final pension that I will have to survive on when I retire will not even match up to what you earn in a year you fucking wanker, so don’t dare tell me not to strike for my rights, you are nothing more than a boorish, bigoted, right wing snob that is the scourge of the working class, when the capitalist world comes crashing down and you are struggling to survive without all your consumeristic goods, I will be there to laugh my fucking arse off, I might even take time to piss on you, you miserable piece of shit.

Your comments were crass, if, as you say they were meant in jest then you are a bigger fool that I previously thought, remember you are employed by the BBC, a publicly funded organisation, if we all stopped paying our licence fee then you would be out of work, yes, just as the public service workers are paid by the British public to provide a service you are also, the only difference is we all work damn hard for a living and don’t spend our days fannying about in cars that are priced above any public service workers salary.

Sometimes I wonder what presenter from Top Gear it was that skidded down a track on his head, because some of your comments make it look like it was you ! and that crash took most of your brain cells away, hopefully one of these days while filming an episode of your program you will be involved in a life threatening crash, hopefully you will lose some limbs and then we can see what treatment you get in hospital, only kidding Jeremy, or am I.

I have been threatening to write a novel for a number of years now but have either got bored, lost interest in the plot and/or characters, needless to say I have never got past 5, 000 or 6,000 words before so, when I saw a news item about NaNoWriMo I thought this is the way to do it, my thinking is if I sign up and tell all my friends and family that I’m doing it then I will be forced to complete, and folks that’s exactly what’s happened, on the 25th November 2011 I completed my first novel, I have the winner avatar to prove it,

and a winners certificate, the most surprising thing for me was I completed 53,487 words 5 days early. I’m currently editing the book and will more than likely be adding more to it to expand the plot, and characters in it, but I’m also going to try and self publish it as well, hopefully in the new year.

I won’t lie to you that it’s been easy, it hasn’t but, what I will say is, it’s surprising to see what can be done when you put your mind to it and also the inspiration that you can get, whilst writing this one I have came up with a sequel, (probably be next years NaNo entry) plus two more ideas that I will be working on, the creativity level has rocketed since I took on this competition at the start of the month.

Basically what I saying is don’t put something off because you haven’t managed to complete it in the past, or you don’t think you can do it, because I really do believe that there is a novel in every one of us, I’m living proof, oh and while I’m at it, I don’t think I will be winning any Booker prizes just yet, and have no illusions that my novel is any good, and although I’m looking to self publish, I will be very surprised if anyone buys it, I didn’t undertake this to make money, just to see if I could, now, if I do make anything out of my writing, I won’t be complaining.

So for anyone who reads this, if you have aspirations to write, have a go next year you’ll be surprised at what you can achieve.

Fox Fucks Up

With Dr Fox being the minister for defence opens up a whole load of issues, the top one being national security, when a person of this stature meets individuals who have vested interests in companies who would like to supply the country with security products and services, in secret, leads us all to believe shady dealings are afoot, and this is no different.

Fox has now resigned and an enquiry is being set up to investigate the actual goings on and how it could have affected national security, as always Fox has appeared in Parliament apologising about his conduct and the usual sincere face on, but you can see into his sleazy beady eyes that this weasel does not mean one word of it, like all politicians that get caught out they think a simple apology will appease the masses, well fuck you Fox, you got caught, you will more than likely tell lies to cover your slimy arse and your mate as well, your other slimy politician friends will get you a new position somewhere and you will continue where you left off, pulling the wool over the public’s eyes in order to line your pockets, I for one will never trust  politician and these continuous acts of deceit perpetuate my hatred for all governors of power.

Steve Jobs and Steve Wosniak, together changed the computing world with their Apple company, while Bill Gates and Microsoft concentrated on software alone, Jobs and Woz, wanted to give the whole package, the computer and the software in one convenient package. Steve Jobs was unique in the technology world as he had the ability to capture an audience, every Apple product launch that he was involved with became a huge event, he had a charisma and his presentations made you want an Apple product whether you needed it or not, they have become synonymous with the task they are produced to do, for example, do we call MP3 players that these days? No we generally refer to them as iPods, Think of the other products he is responsible for bringing to the world, iPhone iMac, iPod, MacBook and, what this blog is being written on…… The iPad.

The technology world has lost a giant, a visionary, a believer, I don’t think we will see another character like Steve again, and it is with a sadness that I write this but could not let the passing of Steve go without a few words.

The demonstrators were well organised with printed leaflets distributed before the march, so before the march barricades were erected in the streets of the proposed march route to prevent the blackshirts marching. As the police tried to clear the route the were met by resistance from the protestors, sticks, rocks and anything else that could be used as a weapon were used, rotten vegetables, rubbish and chamber pots were emptied on the heads of the police as they moved along the streets ahead of the marchers. Mosley was asked to postpone the march as the riot ensued, he agreed and the fascists were led away to Hyde Park, the riot between the police and the anti fascists raged on and 150 protestors were arrested and 100 or so were injured.

A plaque has bee placed on one of the buildings in Dock Street commemorating the event.

The reason I have commented on this is for once it fills you with some sort of hope that for 75 years the British public have had the sense to see that fascism is wrong and were and still are not going to put up with them marching on our streets. The British Fascist Union, National Front, BNP, and the new English Defence League, are nothing but bigoted, narrow minded scum, who don’t deserve to walk the earth let alone have a voice, anyone who picks on a person due to their race, creed or colour or sexual preference are no more than cowardly bullies, inadequate pieces of filth who blame their own shortcomings on anyone but themselves.

Fascism has no place in the 21st Century and the more we stamp on these bullies to eradicate this political ideology once and for all, the world will be a better place

So this leads us onto the pension issue, at the moment we are being told we are all living too long and the pension funds don’t have enough to cope as it is, where will we be in 20 years time when we have an ageing workforce reluctant to retire due to massive cost of living costs and small pensions that would be unable to keep them. Coupled with the lack of taxes going into the coffers because we can’t get the young any jobs, this would equate to massive reductions of finance going into the treasury, and I am no accountant, where does the shortfall come from, we have two angles to cover here, one: paying benefits to those who cannot find work, and two: finding money to cover other public services due to a lack of taxation coming in due to lack of new business.

As I’m only 18 years away from retirement I do want to leave the workplace, not down to the fact that I don’t like my job, I do, I’m fortunate to be employed in a field that I’m interested in, but at the end of the day I’ve worked since leaving school and feel that I’ve earned the break, if I do manage to survive to 65 and retire at that time I will have contributed to the system for 50 years, fucking more than enough in my book. I and my predecessors have been very lucky with regards to employment, but future generations will not have the prospects we have had, and this is not down to economic or financial reasons, it’s a basic numbers game, there will not be the jobs there for anyone to do !

This is a complex issue that will no doubt cause many debates over when a person should retire, and I do agree that the person should have the ultimante decision over when they retire, but at what cost, we do have to look at the upcoming generations and make provisions for them, god forbid my grandchildren (when they arrive) would be left without a job prospect due to me not giving up working, for whatever reason, this should be an avenue that is left open to the next generation, but, and this is a big but, the next generation pensioners, namely me ! should not be left to suffer as this generation has, a vast majority do not have the means to survive winters, and some do not have offspring or other relations to assist or check they are OK during the winter months, and this is what worries me with reduced public services, reduced taxation, increased unemployment, leading to increased tensions will result in both the older and younger generations losing out. It’s not an easy situation to make a balanced decision about but I believe that this is one decision that will result in mass disruption and not too far in the future.

The reasons the staggered collections were started was to make a conscious effort to encourage recycling, if this were to be reversed then we would be reverting back to a refuse collection that would add to the rubbish being dumped on landfill sites. Although in his interview with the BBC this morning, Mr Pickles did refers to the refuse collections as “refuge” collections, he obviously does not know the difference between something being thrown away and a place to hide, I suggest that he find “refuge” should he put his plan into action. again this is parliament squandering the public’s money revamping policies put in place by a previous administration, we could use this money for better uses. This type of action is no more than blatant childish behaviour using our money to fuel their inane actions.

The current fortnightly collections do work, yes, it did take a while to get used to the change but it does allow recycling to progress, more people do recycle due to the fortnightly collections, and to revert back would be a backward step.
